It’s a list of the five worst bands ever assembled: http://unwind.host-it.ou.edu/?p=1645#content . Enjoy.

Obama Wants to Ruin Children’s Lives by Eliminating Summer

And, as melodramatic as I can be sometimes, I’m not exaggerating at all.

A thought

Sometimes fully formed thoughts attack my brain:

I run a mile in my mind before every step I actually take.

Wow.

Having a spare evening to myself, I bashed out, you know, 7,000 words. People tell me that writing gets harder as you get into it, but seriously. I just get more compelled to write. This puts me at 37,500.

I just hope it’s good. Either way, it’s there.

So, I hit 30,000 in my novel yesterday. I don’t think I’ll knock out 5,000 more today, but perhaps 2,500 is realistic. Either way, I am quickly approaching the halfway point of my novel. Things are starting to unravel for the band, but it’s about to accelerate very quickly.

Content update

I passed 25,000 words on my novel last week. This week’s goal is to get to 35,000 words, which will be halfway there. I’ll be writing Tuesday and Wednesday, I think.

Now you know!

Ephemera

So I’m pretty sure that today I’m going to eat three meals and go to sleep on time. This is an astonishing accomplishment. If I can get through tonight without nightmares, it’ll be like I’m a normal person and not a teetering-on-the-edge-of-crazy college student.

Also, I’m 25,000 words into my novel. That means I’m halfway to the end of the mark I need to finish the class, but a third of the way to where I think my novel is actually going to end. Yay on both.

Also, Independent Clauses is picking up again; I did my all call on writers, and I think a couple more will pick up, which would be great. And our new marketing manager seems to be doing very well thus far. It’s pretty great.

Fantasy Football update:
Carnivorous Mortgage (0-1) lost to Tom Brady and “A Fairly Viable Rent.”
Drew Brees, I mean, Candyland Unicorns (1-0) beat up on “The Climb.”

Tap Dance update: I’m at the part where I actually have to practice. Oh snap!

My brother moved to California, and he left the stuff he didn’t want in his room. I then took from that the interesting things. A list of things I procured:

1. A cow costume
2. A navy blue overcoat
3. A broken Bleach (rock band, not anime) belt buckle, which I intend to fix
4. A copy of Good News for People Who Love Bad News by Modest Mouse.
5. An album by post-hardcore band On the Might of Princes (which is funny, because I gave that to him a couple years ago cause I didn’t like post-hardcore. Since then, I’ve grown to like the genre a lot.)
6. A scarf
7. The Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels.
8. Coraline by Gaiman.
9. A hick dictionary called “Jest Talk”
10. An electric guitar, tuner, amp, and extra strings.
11. My old bass guitar.
12. Four sticks of Burt’s Bees. (FOUR!)

Guessing from the ephemera of his life, you’d never guess he’s a Marine now. I suppose we all shed coats along the way before we find the one that fits.

So I once took acoustic guitar lessons, but I wasn’t determined enough to get over my basic problem of “fat fingers.”

Now I am. I’m learning guitar. I’m already learning “Hey There Delilah,” cause it’s easy and pretty. And easy. Let’s not forget that part.

Current soundtrack:

Furthest from the Tree – Ty Maxon
In Case the Comet Comes – Reed KD
Vesper - Leonard Mynx
The Only Road – Jacob Furr
Sleepwalker - JamisonParker

Four folk albums and some hyperemotional pop/rock. Infer from this what you will.
